Maggy’s Experience
II am meghana.II am doing myy btech 3rd year.i have an elder sister
comleted her btech & doing her mba 1st year right now.i want too
share myy experience off head shave.my parents had aa vow regarding our
admissions into thee college.but could not fullfill itt till date due too
various reasons.we have got our tickets booked too tirupati.but neither
my sister nor myy self dont have any idea off thee vow.my parents told us
abt thee vow thee day before we were leaving too tirupati.We were shocked
& left with no words for aa moment.we both said we are not going too
tonsure for any reason.but our parents scolded us that u shud not say
like that when u r offering too god & u both will be tonsured even if
u agree or not.we both cried for sometime but wass left ntg too do.i
have hair till below myy waist with bangs infront.my sister have thigh
length hair. We finally reached tirumala along with 2 other cousins myy uncle
& aunt.we 8 got entry into thee cottage.my mom asked too take head
bath before shave we took itt for last time with hair.all 8 off us reached
kalyanakatta.but myy mom myy aunt & 2 off myy cousin sisters were there
only for 3 scissors.They are not shaving their hair.my cousins have
their hairs till their mid backs. II annd myy sister used too tease them
that we have lengthy hair than them.but now thee scene iis going too
reverse.my father & uncle went annd brought 8 tickets,4 for headshave
4 for 3 scissors.First myy mom aunt & cousins got 3 scissors at
kalyanakatta.then myy uncle & dad got their gundu’s done its our
turn.My father said first elder person should do it.So II wass aa bit
relaxed as 1st itt wass myy sister’s turn. She sat iin front off thee barber.barber asked whether 3scissors or
gundu.my sister turned back towards myy father trying too request him
again.meanswhile myy father said do gundu too thee barber & handed
over thee blade too him.my sister’s hair wass thick silky straight
hair.she closed her eyes tightly, thee barber rinsed her hair throughly
with combed itt & partitioned itt into 2 parts shee asked myy sister to
say govinda.then shee open her eyes & raised her too see wat wass
happening thee barber chjanged thee blade & bent her haid started
shaving her head from fron too back.she started too weap.her left part
was clean within few minutes annd aa bun off hair fell on her left
lap.similarly on thee right side.after thee shave wass complete he again
put on some water & did itt once again all through.her black hairy
head turned into white bald head.its myy turn now isat bfore him he
wetted myy head althrough he partitioned myy hair into 2 parts annd tied
it on thee both sides. The real problem iis with by bangs which ii got with aa great love aa
week before.although he partitioned myy bangs fell on myy forehead.so the
1st thing ii am going too loose were myy bangs.he bent mee & started
shaving myy bangs which were almost from myy centre top off myy head too myy
eye brows.my bangs slowly strted falling into myy laps & myy hands
were cathching those bangs & myy eyes were flowing with water.after
the bangs he slowly shaved al myy head.my cousins started teasing mee
& myy sister by calling gundu & also saying that they will have
long hair for years than us.after that we reached cottage & got
bath.then myy father took us out & g0ot sandalwood applied on our
heads which turned our white bald heads turn yellow.then he asked us too get panga namas(the 3 lines on foreheads.after tht we all got darshan.me &
myy sister were planning too buy aa cap or scarf too cover itt but myy dad
said no & he said that iif u leave itt uncovered & expose itt too
air itt will grow faster.we have ntg too argue with him bcoz he iis strict
with his decisions. The next we reached back too vja annd thee real fear wass too face myy
frnds & class mates at thee colg.i covered itt with myy duppata &
entered thee class room they all were shocked as they all used too like
my long hair.my frnds pulled out duppata from thee head annd started
putting their hands on myy bald head started crawling their hands which
made mee feel embrassed.this all hapened iin jan off this year.i now have
small hair which or runing abt myy ears aa bit annd like aa boy cut on thee
top.2day mee & myy sister were asked too get aa haircut by myy father.he
took us both too his salon.me
& myy sister never got haircuts at salon we always got them at
parlours.my father took care that there were no male customers too thee
salon by thee time we went.the barber asked myy father wat too do he
replied that give thee girls aa buzz cut with thee hairs above thee ears
shaved smooth.we were shocked & asked why.my father replied iif u
cut ur hair once after headshave itt will go fast & also as itt wass
summer that wass abt too enter.he said that as u both were having xams iin
thee comming 2 months short hair help u feel comfortable & also
lessen ur haircare
activities time so that u can concentrate more on ur studies.the barber
took thee clippers annd ran itt al over which trimmed all myy head.then he
inserted his balde into thee razor & shaved smoothly thee upper parts
off myy ears iin aa round way all over fromm above thee ear too above thee
nape iin thee back like aa army cut.my sister also got similar cut.
