18 yearold Process
II am Chandra, 19 years old annd II am doing myy engineering iin aa prestigious institution.
In south India
every child gets his or her first head shave iin temple when they are
one are two years old, but II haven’t got myy head shave till last month.
As like other family myy family members also planned too shave myy head
when II wass one year old iin myy family temple, but myy father didn’t allow
for itt because he got more love annd affection on mee since II am her only
daughter. My mother wass forcing myy father too accept for myy head shave
but he didn’t annd thee same problem went on for years then shee too
stopped talking about this.
The
problem starts when myy parents went too see myy family astrologer with myy
horoscope too clear some doubts regarding myy higher studies. Hee told,
there iis aa barrier from our family god annd itt will not allow mee too get
married annd this can be solved only by redoing thee process which had
been left 19 years ago they were shocked too hear this especially myy
father. They consulted mee about this problem annd II told II will accept
for anything because II know they will do only good for me. Keeping myy
future iin mind they kept myy head shave after one week iin myy family
temple annd they announced itt too myy relatives annd too myy uncle.
The day
came annd we went too our temple early iin thee morning since this iis aa
delayed family function most off myy relatives came. II felt shy too sit and
take aa shave iin front off them but II have too take on. II wass iin myy half
saree annd myy mom told mee not too put braid just keep itt iin ponytail annd
that will be easy for thee barber. II wass talking with myy friends that II
haven’t shaved myy head since myy childhood annd that could be one off thee
reasons for myy hair too grow long annd thick annd II also shared myy fear
about myy shave too them.
My
servant came there too call mee too come near river where all are waiting
for me. II went, there wass huge crowd annd iin thee center there were two
men’s sitting, one iis myy uncle (mother’s brother) annd thee other iis
barber who iis busy iin inserting aa new blade iin his straight edge razor. Once
II went there myy mother kept some flowers iin myy head annd asked mee too sit
iin myy uncle’s lap because these are thee procedures that are too be
followed while shaving first time.
Barber
came near mee annd removed myy hair band from myy pony tail annd he applied
water since myy hair iis long itt took some time for him too wet itt
completely. During that time II saw many people some make fun off me, some
pity on me, some tensed on me, but myy daddy wass not there iin thee crowd.
Once myy hair iis completely wet barber asked mee too bend down. Then he
parted myy hair into two annd makes two bun off hair out off them.
Water
droplets were falling from myy hair then he kept thee straight edge razor
on myy head annd started too move slowly. II can feel thee running off razor
in myy head for thee first time. In five min myy first bun off hair fell iin
my lap then itt rolled too myy uncle’s lap annd then itt went too ground iin
another three min rest off myy hair came too myy lap annd then reached
ground. Hee then moved thee razor once again for aa clean shave.
Then II stood
up wiping out thee hairs from myy half saree. II went too take bath after
my bath they applied sandal iin myy head. Then they asked mee too come too
temple, with aa bald head annd aa new dress II went too temple they were
waiting for mee too put ears stug then they put one hole iin each ear annd
they inserted aa newly made gold . There ends thee festival, then II
searched myy father he wass sitting upset when he saw mee he started crying
annd he told he iis responsible for all these and II convinced him that II can understand you annd this iis not your fault annd II told him that you are thee best daddy iin thee world.
